When I decided to study food engineering I thought people would never stop eating. Naturally, we all have to eat. So there are many kinds of foods to choose from; gluten-free, lactose-free, but do people really know how to choose what they eat? Does anyone read the labels on the products? Do we know what we're eating? Nowadays there is an inefficient food education, nobody teaches you how to buy food or how it should be kept, the right way to wash each fruit or vegetable. Many diseases are transmitted through food, such as salmonella or escherichia coli, in addition to the current disease. All these things I ask myself and try to see how, being a food engineer, I can help people understand packaging to select according to their needs.
